Steve Hacko was admitted to Ingalls Hospital Tuesday after being hit by a car while cycling. He suffered a collapsed lung and bruises.

He returned home on Thursday.

 

Anna Dekker underwent an angioplasty procedure  at St. James Hospital on Thursday to clear three blocked arteries. All went well

and she returned home on Friday.

 

Gwen DeJong had outpatient corrective knee surgery at St. Anthony Hospital in Crown Point on Thursday. 

                                            

Judy Veenstra's surgery this past Thursday was more extensive than first anticipated, but she is doing well and expects to

begin chemo therapy treatments as soon as she has recovered from the surgery.

 

Congratulations and God’s blessing to the following  individuals (80+) who  will celebrate birthdays this month.

Announcements...

"Celebrate Life and Liberty" Join with your friends and neighbors for a special CRC combined worship service this evening, July 4, at 6:00 PM at the Munster Christian Reformed Church. We will sing some of the great patriotic songs, give thanks, and pray for God's blessing on America. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow the service. Make your holiday a holy-day with us.

 

The Bethel Cares/Black Oak Project is looking for help this week Wednesday, July 7, at the Christian Fellowship Church in Hammond.  We need to have electrical work completed before the week of the 19th and would appreciate anyone who can give us a day.  Experience - SOME - we are doing electrical work and general knowledge about wiring would be necessary. See Harry Jabaay or Gary VanNoort for additional information. The church address is

The Bethel Cares/Black Oak Mission Project is coming this month, during the week of July 19-23. Please sign up in the FLC after the morning service if you are available and willing to help!

 

Attention Bethel Campers: There is 1 campsite available for our church campout on July 29, 30 & August 1. Cost is $51.00. Please contact Debbie Ohm or Sheri Rozendal if interested.

 

Prime Timers: We are planning to go to Bear Creek in Indiana for the Fall Gospel Concert on Thursday, Oct. 14. This is an overnight trip. We have 25 rooms reserved. Sign-up sheets are on the east table in the narthex. The cost is $151.20 per couple which includes supper, concert and breakfast the next morning. Student Life Pool Party! Student Life is having a Pool Party Sunday, July 18, from 6:30pm-9:30pm, following the evening church service. We are meeting at John and Lea Wilkening’s house located at

2010 Maplewood Circle, Highland, IN. Transportation will NOT be provided, so you will need to find your own ride to and from their house. Food will be provided. Incoming Freshmen and outgoing Seniors are welcome. 

 

2010-2011 Student Life: The Lake Day date has been set! Lake Day will be August 7, 2010. This will be our kickoff for next season – so incoming freshman are welcome. More details will be made available when it gets closer to August 7.

 

Bethel is collecting box fans (good used or new) for the Lansing Evangelical Church’s Jubilee Celebration on July 31 & August 1. These fans will be distributed to families in Lansing. (They will not be returned.) Donated fans can be dropped off in the Family Life Center.

 

Recently, you received a letter from the Bible League International Volunteers. PLEASE read this letter carefully and prayerfully consider supporting their project to provide Bibles and train nationals in Africa. Together we can bring people to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and change lives for Him! Thank you.

Last year (2009), Self-Help Jobs Program heard from 43 job seeking clients that they achieved employment.  For the first half of this year, we are already at 28!  Praise God with us!  You can join the ranks of the employed as well.  Seek the assistance of the Self-Help Jobs Program by calling 708-633-6580 or emailing selfhelpjobs@sbcglobal.net.
